Tuition assistance - because music is for everybody!
For many years, my music classes were free to the families with whom I worked as a part of another job. I started that music class because I was one of those families who couldn't pay for music classes for my kids, but being a music teacher, I knew how important a musical education and experience is starting at a young age. Now that I have my own studio and expenses, I cannot keep my lessons free. But I feel very strongly that every child should have access to affordable music lessons.
If you have written me, I will assume that it is because you cannot pay full tuition, and I will not require proof of income. You will still need to pay the full price for student materials (about $35 for Sound Beginnings and $64-$88 across the three years of Let's Play Music) as they are sold and distributed by the Let's Play Music corporation, not by me, and you cannot enroll in a class without those essential materials. Full tuition for classes is $225 per semester for Sound Beginnings ($45 for each additional child) and $330 per semester for Let's Play Music (no multiplies discount). Tuition assistance is based on a bartering system and are all focused on social media and online networking. The levels are as follows:
Level 1: $30 off
- Follow Making Musicians in Boulder Valley on Facebook and Instagram
- 5 social media posts throughout the semester
- share about the class on at least one local Facebook page
Level 2: $50 off
- Follow Making Musicians in Boulder Valley on Facebook and Instagram
- 7 social media posts throughout the semester
- share about the class on at least one local Facebook page
- Leave a review on Google or Facebook
Level 3: $80 off
- Follow Making Musicians in Boulder Valley on Facebook and Instagram
- Weekly social media posts (15) in the semester
- share about the class on at least one local Facebook page
- Leave a review on Google and Facebook
A couple requirements:
- On social media posts, please use the appropriate hashtags for your child's class in addition to tagging my studio (#makingmusiciansinbouldervalley, #letsplaymusic, #soundbeginnings). You can also get credit for recommending my classes on local Facebook pages (@makingmusiciansinbouldervalley) and to your friends and family. You may also re-post anything I share on my Facebook and Instagram pages for credit.
- Please do not divulge these terms - including your tuition - to anyone. I am asking that you be honest in your social media posts and reviews (I would ask that if you have any glaringly-negative issues that you come to me first so that we can try to work it out), but the terms of this agreement are to remain between you and me. I will send reminders if you forget so that you are able to uphold your terms of the agreement.
- Regardless of your barter level, please pay $50 for Sound Beginnings or $100 for Let's Play Music (per child) against your tuition balance before classes begin. If you need to pay this in installments, please let me know, and pay the first one before the semester starts.
Please let me know which level if any you would like to choose, or conversely, if none of these work for you but you'd like to propose a barter. I am definitely open to creativity! If you know any families who are in similar circumstances, have them email me and I will work something out with them as well.
